TheEmergencyRoom and Galway International Arts Festival in association with Cusack Projects Limited present
by Samuel Beckett
Grey sky no cloud no sound no stir earth ash grey sand…
We enter a vast desert landscape and glimpse the contours of a small body, standing fixed, amid ruins or refuge.
Olwen Fouéré, a beguiling physical presence with a phenomenal vocal technique, invites you to reflect on the many refractions of this profoundly evocative Beckett text.
Lessness premiered at the Beckett International Season at the Barbican, London in June and was then presented at the Galway International Arts Festival, both in 2015.
Fouéré’s most recent creation, riverrun, an adaptation and performance of the voice of the river from James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake, was presented to sold out audiences here at Project in 2013 and 2015.
It has also toured to London, Edinburgh, New York, Princeton, Adelaide and Sydney.
